Marcus Wight, CEO

Marcus Wight founded PHAR at the beginning of 2011 after 4 years as MD of Havas Sports.

Marcus has over 20 years of sponsorship experience and before that he played county cricket for Gloucestershire and was a double blue at Cambridge University.

His career began in 1995 when he started work at Sports & Outdoor Media rising up the ranks during the various changes of ownership until he became MD of Sportsworld Media, a FTSE 250 company. In 2002, along with Keith Impey and Prem Bhatia, he led a MBO of the UK and Indian businesses. Over the next 5 years, the management team grew the businesses such that they were making a seven figure profit, employing over 30 people and working with brands like AirAsia, Procter & Gamble, Sky, LG, Hero Honda and Asda.

During his time at Havas, Marcus was responsible for running the UK agency which worked with clients like adidas (New Zealand All Blacks), Hyundai and KIA (FIFA World Cup), EDF Energy (London 2012 Olympics) and Sky (British Cycling). He was also responsible for the purchase of Connexus and setting up the Insight and Strategy division of Havas which consulted to rights holders like the English Premier League, the Lawn Tennis Association, Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC and the Olympic Legacy Committee.

As CEO of PHAR over the last 6 years,  Marcus has been responsible for growing a team of over 80 people in 7 countries. He has built long term relationships with local partners, rights holders and brands in each country and PHAR is now ready for its next stage of expansion both in existing countries and new territories.
